Origins

1814

Vojtěch Scheinost, the founder of the „upper factory“ (as PAP was previously called), was born.

1844

Vojtěch Scheinost and Bernard Fürth started the construction of the first building of the SOLO Sušice match production company, from which PAP Packaging later emerged.

1903

V. Scheinost merged the so-called „lower factory“ with the factory of B. Fürth, and together, they created the first SOLO joint-stock company.
The 30s

1932

The factory was closed. Under pressure from the representatives of the Town of Sušice, the representatives of the factory made a commitment to build a substitute industry.

1933

The factory obtained the necessary machines for the production of conical paper packaging.  In August, its representatives commenced experimental production with ten employees, who produced cups for marmalade and bowls for aspics (among other things).

1939

After the occupation of the Czechoslovak Republic and during World War II, the factory belonged to the Austrian Association for Chemicals and Metallurgical Production.
1940-69

1945

The factory was nationalized and incorporated into the South Bohemian Paper Mills.

1957

The plant's engineers built the first semi-automated machine for the completion of containers in their own workshops.

1967

The engineers of the plant produced our first fully-automated machine.

1969

A new Bellaplast line for the production of plastic consumer packaging entered the operation.
1970-89

1977

The work became more efficient with the introduction of the tricolour printing machine Kolora 1, with a daily output of up to 99 thousand containers. Other similar machines were built in 1979-80.

1983

The engineers installed an LTK polystyrene container production line equipped with its own forming and cutting with a connected printing machine.

1983

Anew SAPER paraffin coating machine for the application of finishes on the container cardboard entered the operation.
1990-99

1990

The plant became independent and the independent state enterprise PAP Sušice was established.

1991

We started our production of cups and containers made of polyethylene-laminated cardboard, and we extended our assortment of polystyrene products and added products made of polypropylene.

1992

The National Property Fund of the Czech Republic founded the joint-stock company PAP Sušice.

1992

We introduced computer technology and purchased the modern Polytype six-colour machine, which prints directly onto the finished containers with dry offset technology with an output of 500 containers per minute.

1995

In the south of Poland, a subsidiary was established under the trade name PAP-POL.

1997

We underwent an audit and obtained a quality management system certification according to the standard ISO 9001.

1999

The Italian company GIO'STYLE MONOUSO S. p. A. acquired 86.3 % of the shares and thus gained the controlling interest in the company.
2000-09

2003

The most significant and costly modernization of the plant in the post-November history of PAP took place - for about CZK 210 million.

2006

The owner of our company changed. The Italian company DOpla S.p.A became the owner.

2008-9

We opened a new hall, moved some machines and installed 2 production lines for polystyrene and polypropylene cups. These changes allowed us to increase the annual production capacity of cups to 1.5 billion pieces.
2010 <

2010-11

We added two Weyhmüller CBU-DES machines for combined plastic-paper cups to our machine park. Their high stability, attractive appearance and ecological operation are their distinguishing features.
